Anglican theologian and historian Dr Alastair Reese preached to thousands gathered at the Waitangi Day dawn service on 6 February 2024, offering his view of the Treaty of Waitangi as a sacred covenant between iwi Māori and the Crown.
This event will take a deeper dive deeper into Alastair's message. Come along and broaden your understanding of the Church's relationship with te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi). It is an important time for our nation as we discuss what te Tiriti means for our shared future.
Full text of Alistair's sermon can be found here: https://anglicantaonga.org.nz/news/our_heritage/areese_waitangi24.
