ABOUT US
-
Waikato/Taranaki Anglican Diocese stretches from the Iron sands of South Taranaki to the beautiful beaches of Southern Coromandel.
Taking our name from the mighty Waikato river and the majestic Mt Taranaki our Diocese honours its shared heritage with the people of Te Manawa o te Wheke and Te Upoko o te Ika.
Our Diocese has a unique place in the Anglican Communion, having had two Bishoprics; the Bishopric of Waikato and the Bishopric of Taranaki means our diocese has two Cathedrals: the Waikato Cathedral Church of St Peter and the Taranaki Cathedral Church of St Mary.
-
The Anglican Church in Aotearoa New Zealand and Polynesia expects very high standards of behaviour from all its ministers and authorised leaders.
Tenants and anyone hiring or using our spaces must comply with Taranaki Cathedral’s Health & Safety Policies and the Safeguarding Policy of the Waikato Taranaki Diocese.
